Happy Birthday to Joe

Joe’s birthday happened when we were on Hvar this year. Since there’s basically only one thing to do there (go to the beach) we did that thing with a promise of a future adventure. Joe elected to have donuts for his birthday celebration instead of cake, which suited us just fine, since we had previously panicked (Em panicked) that all the bakeries on Hvar were closed.

I had hoped that the promised, future adventure would be canyoneering on the Cetina river, but the water temperature dropped too much to allow several hours in the water, even with a wetsuit. Side note, the Cetina is a spring fed river with a terrifyingly abyssal source called The Eye of the Earth. Fortunately, we didn’t visit the source - instead, we went rafting on a lower section. Happy birthday Joe.
